Kululu shows up in almost every "free wedding photo sharing" search, and its live photo wall is one of the better reception displays we've seen. It also has the tightest fine print in the category: the free plan gives your guests 24 hours to upload and keeps the photos for 7 days, and the $39 Plus plan stops accepting photos at 500 uploads. Whether that matters depends entirely on what you're planning.
Disclosure first: we make WeddingSnap, which competes with Kululu. So we've kept this review to things you can verify yourself. Every price and limit below comes from Kululu's own pricing page, fair-usage policy and FAQ, all checked on September 20, 2026, and we've linked them at the bottom. Where we give an opinion, we say so.
The short version
- Kululu is good at: a live photo and video wall on a TV or projector, browser uploads with no app or account, captions on photos, and event types beyond weddings. Its free plan is a genuinely free way to try it.
- Kululu is weak at: upload windows and caps. Free means 24 hours and 100 uploads. Plus means one month and 500 uploads, with photos kept for three months. Only Pro at $99 removes the cap, and even Pro closes uploads three months after the event.
- Pick Kululu if: you're running a small party or a corporate event, the photo wall is the main thing you want, and you'll download the album promptly.
- Look elsewhere if: you expect more than 500 guest photos, you want guests to keep adding photos for months, or you want an audio guestbook. For a single wedding, WeddingSnap gives you unlimited uploads, a 12-month window, a live slideshow and voice messages for $39.99, and GuestPix and GuestCam both offer unlimited uploads from $49.
What Kululu is
Kululu is an event photo-sharing service run by Crunchy Granola LLC, a company registered in Sheridan, Wyoming. Its homepage counts more than 8.7 million uploads across roughly 52,000 events, and it markets to birthdays, conferences and company events as much as to weddings. Guests scan a QR code or open a link, upload photos and videos from their phone's browser, and can add a caption or a decorated text post. Everything lands in a digital album, and a "Live Photo Wall" plays the uploads as a slideshow on any screen during the event.
Kululu displays a 4.7-star rating from 500+ reviews on its own site. We couldn't find a Trustpilot profile for it at the time of writing, so treat that rating as self-reported.
Kululu pricing in 2026
Kululu sells three consumer plans as one-time fees per event, priced in US dollars and excluding taxes. Its pricing page also carried a "50% off all plans, limited time" banner when we checked, so confirm the figure at checkout.
| Plan | Price | Uploads | Upload window | Photos kept for | Quality | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Up to 100 | 24 hours | 7 days | Standard | Basic customization |
| Plus | $39 once | Up to 500 | 1 month | 3 months | Original | Custom branding, one-click download |
| Pro | $99 once | Unlimited (fair use: 10,000) | 3 months | 1 year | Original | Moderation and auto content filter, custom URL, welcome forms, full brand control |
All plans include the live photo wall, the digital album, unlimited guests, captions and a private gallery. Checked on Kululu's pricing page on September 20, 2026.
Kululu also sells monthly business plans for organizers who run several events, and its fair-usage policy caps "unlimited" at 10,000 uploads and 5,000 participants per event, which is plenty for any wedding.
The fine print that matters at a wedding
Most of Kululu's limits are stated clearly on the pricing page. The problem is that several of them only bite after the wedding, when it's too late to change plans.
1. The upload window starts on its own
Kululu's FAQ explains that an event becomes "active" automatically, based on the event date and guest activity, and that after the active window "no more uploads can be done." You can set up and test as early as you like without starting the clock, which is sensible. But once the window closes, the aunt who uploads her photos two months later is out of luck on Plus, and five months later is out of luck on Pro.
2. Free means 24 hours
On the free plan guests have one day to upload, and the album is deleted after a week. That's fine for testing or a small dinner. It is not a wedding plan, and third-party reviews of Kululu consistently describe couples discovering the limit mid-event. If you're planning to use the free plan for a wedding, plan to upgrade instead.
3. Plus caps at 500 uploads, and weddings blow past that
Kululu itself recommends Plus for events "up to 100 guests" where "no more than 500 photos will be shared." On our platform, a typical 100-guest wedding collects around 630 guest photos, roughly seven uploads per guest, and video pushes the count higher. In our experience that means a Plus event is likely to hit its cap somewhere around the cake cutting. The honest wedding plan on Kululu is Pro at $99.
4. Three months of storage on Plus
Plus keeps photos for three months. Couples are often still on their honeymoon, moving house or just tired at the three-month mark, which is exactly when a download deadline gets missed. Set a calendar reminder the day you buy.
5. Standard quality on the free plan
Free uploads are saved in "standard quality," which in practice means compressed. Plus and Pro keep the originals.
6. Moderation is Pro only
Manual approval and the automatic content filter are listed on Pro. On Free and Plus you can delete photos after they appear, but you can't hold them for review first.
7. Prices exclude taxes
Both paid plans are labelled "excluding taxes," so the checkout total can be higher than the sticker price depending on where you live.
Want the photo wall without the upload cap?
WeddingSnap includes a live slideshow, unlimited photo and video uploads, a 12-month upload window and voice messages from guests, for $39.99 once with a 30-day money-back guarantee. See the live demo or compare what's included.
What Kululu does well
- The Live Photo Wall. It is the centerpiece of the product, it runs from a plain web link on any TV or projector, and it shows the QR code on screen so guests know how to join. If a reception display is your priority, Kululu earns its place on the shortlist.
- No app, no account. Guests scan the code with the camera app and upload from the browser. Kululu also lets you share the album as a link for people who'd rather upload later.
- Captions and text posts. Guests can attach a caption or post a decorated message alongside a photo, which makes the wall more fun to watch than a plain slideshow.
- Beyond weddings. Kululu is built for birthdays, conferences and corporate events too, with business plans for people who run several a month.
- Money back if you didn't use it. Kululu's "Fair Refund Policy" promises a refund if you ended up not using it at your event.
- A real free tier. Limited as it is, it lets you see the guest experience before paying, with no card required.
Where Kululu falls short
- Upload caps and windows on every plan. This is the whole story. GuestPix, GuestCam, Wedibox and WeddingSnap all sell unlimited uploads on their main wedding plans; Kululu only does on Pro.
- No audio guestbook. Kululu collects photos, videos and captions. If you want voice messages from guests, GuestCam and WeddingSnap include them.
- Short storage. Three months on Plus is the shortest paid retention we've seen from a wedding app. Most competitors keep galleries for 12 months.
- The wedding plan is the expensive one. Because Plus is realistically too small for a wedding, the fair comparison is Pro at $99, which is the highest single-wedding price in this group.
Kululu vs GuestPix
This is the comparison people search for most, and the two products are different shapes. GuestPix's Classic plan costs $49, includes unlimited photos and videos, a written and video guestbook, a live slideshow, a digital invitation with RSVPs and more than 180 Canva sign templates, with a 3-month upload window and 12 months of hosting. Signature at $89 extends uploads to 12 months. Kululu's photo wall is more polished as a reception display; GuestPix's signage and invitations are more polished as a planning toolkit.
| Kululu Plus / Pro | GuestPix Classic / Signature | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $39 / $99 | $49 / $89 |
| Uploads | 500 / unlimited | Unlimited (fair use) |
| Upload window | 1 month / 3 months | 3 months / 12 months |
| Gallery kept | 3 months / 1 year | 12 months |
| Live slideshow | Yes, the photo wall | Yes |
| Guestbook | Captions only | Written and video |
| Sign templates | Printable QR codes | 180+ Canva templates |
| Guest step before upload | None | Types their name |
Our take: for a wedding, GuestPix Classic at $49 beats Kululu Plus at $39, because unlimited uploads and 12 months of hosting matter more than $10. Against Kululu Pro, GuestPix Signature is $10 cheaper with a longer upload window. Kululu wins if the reception display is the thing you care about most. We compared GuestPix in more depth in our GuestPix review.
Kululu vs GuestCam
GuestCam's Standard plan is $49 with unlimited uploads, a 6-month upload window, 12 months of storage, a live slideshow and an audio guestbook that guests use from the web. Premium is $97 with a 12-month upload window, 14 months of storage and six galleries. A dedicated phone number for the audio guestbook is a $30 add-on and face search is $45.
Our take: GuestCam is the stronger wedding product. Its $49 plan already includes what Kululu charges $99 for, plus voice messages, and the upload window is twice as long. Kululu's photo wall is nicer to look at, and Kululu is cheaper if all you need is a small party under 500 photos. Our full WeddingSnap vs GuestCam comparison covers GuestCam's add-ons.
Kululu vs WeddingSnap
We build WeddingSnap, so read this as a builder's comparison, then check both pricing pages.

| Gallery kept | 3 months / 1 year | 12 months, downloads yours for good |
| Live slideshow | Yes | Yes, new photos appear in about 20 seconds |
| Audio guestbook | No | Yes, voice messages up to 5 minutes |
| Original quality | Paid plans only | Yes, up to 100 MB per file |
| Sign templates | Printable QR codes | 24 print-ready cards and signs, printing optional from $74.99 all in |

| Free tier | Yes, 24 hours | No, live demo only |
| Guarantee | Refund if unused | 30-day money-back on the software fee |
Where Kululu is better: it has a free tier, it has an approval queue for public events, and it sells business plans for people running several events a month. Where WeddingSnap is better: unlimited uploads at the $39 price point, a 12-month upload window instead of one or three, voice messages included, and the guarantee. For one wedding, we think that's the better deal, and the demo lets you check the guest flow in a minute.

Who should choose Kululu
Choose Kululu if you want the best-looking live photo wall, your event is a party or a corporate gathering rather than a wedding, or you expect fewer than 500 uploads and will download the album within a few weeks. The free plan is also a sensible way to run a small dinner or a rehearsal with zero cost.
Skip Kululu for a wedding unless you're buying Pro. Even then, write the three-month upload deadline in your calendar, because guests keep finding photos on their phones for a long time after the day.
